Unless you've ever used a DSLR and shot into the sun/ a bright light source then you can be forgiven for thinking it's fake. For instance, i can tell you just by looking at the flare that the lens the photographer is using has 7 aperture blades. And from that i can tell that it's probably the Nikon 10.5mm fisheye. If you're not into photography you wouldn't be expected to know these things, would you?

PROPS ON A GREAT PIC AND WELL DESERVED POD.

You can make a HDR out of one RAW file actually. there are loads of good ones on the flickr website. the description of the photo says its a "true HDR" though, which is 3 shots. im not sure how he's done it but you can see that the cloud to the left of the rider has moved which shows he's used more than one photo. It's not very good, clouds are too dark but its not a bad effort

first off, this is definitely a HDR photograph. Try typing HDR into flickr search engine and you'll have proof of that. secondly HDR has nothing to do with photoshop at all, it's about combining 3 images with different exposures and tone mapping the result. And it's very difficult to achieve a good result without having a great photo to work from in the first place.

it's definitely processed but it still takes skill to get a shot like that in the first place. It's well composed, well focused and well timed - he's got it just right. and i recognised it straight away as a HDR photograph which is a whole different kettle of fish from photoshop.
